How to Use Press-On Nails
A ten-minute application is all it takes to achieve your dream manicure! Here’s a quick guide to applying press-on nails.
Application
- Always start with dry hands! Avoid soaking or wetting your hands for a few hours before application.
- Using an orange stick, push your cuticles back carefully.
- Carefully buff the surface of your nails until they’re matte.
- Wipe your nails with an alcohol pad to dehydrate them.
- Select the press-on nails you’ll use for each finger by measuring them against your natural nails. If one of your nails is between sizes, buff the sides of the larger press-on to ensure a comfortable fit.
- Starting with the pinky, brush a thin layer of nail glue over your natural nail.
- Apply a small swipe of glue to the inner side of the press-on nail.
- Bring the press-on nail against your natural nail at a 45-degree angle, and then press it down.
- Hold the press-on against your nail for 20 seconds, pressing gently to squeeze out any air bubbles.
- Apply the rest of your stick nails following the same method, alternating hands as you go.
- Once you’re done, wait for at least 2 hours before letting your hands get wet.
Removal
- To remove your press-on nails, fill a small bowl with warm water, and add a few squeezes of dish soap and oil.
- Soak your hands in the water for 15-20 minutes.
- Using a cuticle stick, carefully loosen around the perimeter of the press-on nail and carefully push them off.
- If the press-on nails won’t pop off, soak for a few more minutes and try again.
- Dry your hands, and file away any remaining nail glue.
