Why Choose Acrylic Press-On Nails?

Press-on nails have the elegance of salon nail extensions, but they allow for an effortless home application. They save you time and money while giving you total independence.

  • Style and Substance - Whether you love nail extensions for their fierceness, glamor, elegance, or artistry, there’s a press-on nail out there that will fit your vibe. From simple and demure French-tipped almond or square nails to ultra-long stilettos with unusual designs, the options are endless!
  • Cost-Saving - Compared to professional extensions, the cost-savings are immense. Maintaining a set of acrylics can cost upwards of a thousand dollars a year, especially if you’re a fan of more unique styles. By comparison, a single kit of our budget-friendly press-on nails can be reused again and again, for the same effect at a fraction of the cost.
  • Long-Wearing But Easy to Remove  - Depending on the application technique, press-on nails can easily stay put for 10 days and even longer. Even so, they’re a breeze to remove, especially compared to acrylics. Sticky tabs give you the option to enjoy the style for just a few days at a time.
  • Kind to Your Nails  - Milder glues and easier removal mean that press-on nails can be far kinder to the health of your nails. Acrylics require significant filing of the natural nail plate, and the removal process involves soaking the nails in acetone which can be quite drying. The lighter, gentler press-on nails are a wonderful alternative if you’re worried about nail damage.

Lilac’s Press-On Nails Collection

  • Gold in My Veins - Designed in partnership with nail artist Tea L., Gold in My Veins is a true work of art. They feature a subtle marbled base for a pearlescent effect, with pulses of metallic gold flowing organically across the surface. These press-ons are long, almond-shaped, glossy, and guaranteed to draw attention.
  • Sheer Chemise - Feeling mindful and demure? Sheer chemise is our take on nude press-ons. They feature a glossy, bare-skin ombré that progressively and subtly transitions from pale peach to a deeper pink toward the tips. The rounded shape is short for sweet, easy vibes.
  • Seeing Stars - You’ll go starry-eyed for our playful twist on French-tipped nails. These medium almond nails bring just the right amount of drama with the classic peachy-nude base, rounded white tips, and a constellation of sparkly silver stars.
  • Blush Touched - Sweet but not demure - that’s our Blush Touched nails. This ombré design is unabashedly femme, with a gradient of nude peach transforming into a deeper blush towards the end of the medium-length, rounded tips. With a pearlescent, glossy finish, these are our flirty go-tos.
  • Semi-Sweet - These chocolate-inspired brown press-ons bring elevated elegance to any look. They feature a matte finish with just a hint of gloss at the tips. Short and square, their balanced design will help you embrace your inner dualities.
  • Limited Editions - Keep an eye out because the beauty of our Lilac St. Press-Ons is that something new is always around the corner. We’re continuously bringing in new designs that will set your imagination alight or help you usher in each new season and celebration

How to Use Press-On Nails

A ten-minute application is all it takes to achieve your dream manicure! Here’s a quick guide to applying press-on nails.

Application

  1. Always start with dry hands! Avoid soaking or wetting your hands for a few hours before application.
  2. Using an orange stick, push your cuticles back carefully.
  3. Carefully buff the surface of your nails until they’re matte.
  4. Wipe your nails with an alcohol pad to dehydrate them.
  5. Select the press-on nails you’ll use for each finger by measuring them against your natural nails. If one of your nails is between sizes, buff the sides of the larger press-on to ensure a comfortable fit.
  6. Starting with the pinky, brush a thin layer of nail glue over your natural nail.
  7. Apply a small swipe of glue to the inner side of the press-on nail.
  8. Bring the press-on nail against your natural nail at a 45-degree angle, and then press it down.
  9. Hold the press-on against your nail for 20 seconds, pressing gently to squeeze out any air bubbles.
  10. Apply the rest of your stick nails following the same method, alternating hands as you go.
  11. Once you’re done, wait for at least 2 hours before letting your hands get wet.

Removal

  1. To remove your press-on nails, fill a small bowl with warm water, and add a few squeezes of dish soap and oil.
  2. Soak your hands in the water for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Using a cuticle stick, carefully loosen around the perimeter of the press-on nail and carefully push them off.
  4. If the press-on nails won’t pop off, soak for a few more minutes and try again.
  5. Dry your hands, and file away any remaining nail glue.

How to choose the right Clip Nails for you

Shopping for press-on nails is a lot of fun, but don’t forget to take these quality considerations into account.

  • Style - If you’re going to rock a set of press-on nails for days, choose a style that you absolutely love. This comes down to your taste, so take your time to look at photos. Take into account not just the nail art but also the length and shape of the nails.
  • Material & Durability - There are a few types of materials that press-on nails can be made of, including acrylic soft gel and plant-derived plastics. The most durable and chip-resistant option, however, is ABS plastic, which also happens to be a non-toxic and even food-safe option.
  • Fit - Finding the right fit is incredibly important for the longevity of your manicure and your comfort. The best way to ensure your press-on nails fit is to purchase from brands that offer multiple size options in one kit. The Lilac St. Press-On Nail sets come with 30 nails of various sizes, so you can always find a match.
  • Adhesive - A high-quality cyanoacrylate-based adhesive will keep your press-on nails in place for days if not weeks. Look for press-on nails that come with brush-on adhesives and transparent ingredient lists. Alternatively, if you like to change your style on a regular basis, you can opt for press-on nails that come with adhesive tabs instead.
